Ciara and Emer are seventeen-year-old students from Cork, Ireland who with their teammate Sophie won the Google Global Science Fair, for an innovation which it is hoped will improve food crop productivity thereby reducing world hunger.

Ciara and Emer continue to develop their innovation with experts in the field and in October 2014 they were recognised by Time magazine as being amongst the top 25 most influential teenagers in the world.
